Huntclubs

Huntclubs was designed from the ground up in 1985 to deliver waterfowl hunting over decoys. The 850+ acre property sits in the spectacular Klamath Basin marsh complex, surrounded by the Klamath River and directly across from Miller Island State Game Refuge. It's the geography that matters here: ponds, green marshes, pastures, grain and alfalfa fields, and miles of canals—all arranged to attract game and test your decoying skills.

Huntclubs limits waterfowl membership to seven members total for the year. They maintain eighteen blinds (mix of 3-man, 2-man, and 1-man steel units) with careful control over which blinds get used when. Here's the discipline:

• •No pass shooting, jump shooting, or free roaming
• •35-yard maximum shooting range (strictly enforced)
• •Small gauge preference: #6 steel in 12ga and 20ga dominates
• •No 12ga magnum shells or shot larger than #4s

This deliberately conservative approach cuts crippling rates dramatically. The result is undisturbed, quality hunting in a well-managed environment.

• •Waterfowl: The club has spent decades building wetlands and creating habitats. They carefully monitor shooting pressure and member applications to ensure consistent hunting quality.

• •Pheasant: 600 of the 950 acres are open to pheasant hunting; 350 acres stay closed as sanctuary with older, migrating birds. This isn't a put-and-take preserve—birds are raised for field conditions, not released and shot the same day. Annual members get up to 30 birds per season, typically October 1 through Thanksgiving weekend.
