Cowboy Action Shooting Sports is running a SASS match on April 27, 2026—timed stages where you shoot single-action revolvers, lever rifles, and shotguns through Old West scenarios. You adopt an alias, wear period costume, and compete against the clock. It's competitive but grounded in the sport's practical roots: shooting accurately and fast with firearms that actually existed a century ago.

Each stage puts you through a different scenario—barroom standoff, cattle rustler pursuit, that kind of thing. You'll shoot multiple targets from different positions, reload on the move, and see how your stage time stacks up. The format rewards accuracy and speed equally; miss a target and you're adding penalty seconds anyway.
