Smithfield Sportsman's Club

Smithfield Sportsman's Club is a historic Rhode Island shooting and sporting club founded in 1917, located at 14 Walter Carey Road in Smithfield (Greenville area). Originally established as the Georgiaville Foxhunter's Club, this community-focused organization has evolved into a thriving hub for over 300 regular members passionate about hunting, fishing, target shooting, and archery.

The club offers a comprehensive range of shooting disciplines and outdoor sports:

• •Rifle shooting - Target shooting instruction and practice
• •Pistol shooting - Handgun training and marksmanship
• •Shotgun shooting - Shotgun sports and instruction
• •Archery - Spring and summer season programs for all skill levels
• •Junior Rifle Program - Youth shooting education (ages 10-21) on Friday evenings during the school year
• •CMP shoots - Civilian Marksmanship Program events
• •Hatchet throwing - Traditional throwing sports
• •Air rifle/BB guns - Recreational shooting for families

The club is a private membership organization. Prospective members are encouraged to attend monthly meetings (first Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM) to learn more. Dinner is typically available for a small donation. The club welcomes the public for special events, including the annual Field Day (typically held in September), Hunter Safety courses, and monthly membership meetings.
