Full description and what we offer
Owned and operated by Graham Cotter—a 20-year veteran of the saltwater guiding community—Southern Drawl Outfitters has been serving Hilton Head anglers for over 15 years. Graham started his career managing private sport fishing operations in the Florida Keys, South Florida, and the Bahamas before bringing that expertise back to his Lowcountry roots. Every team member brings hands-on knowledge of local tides, fisheries, and seasonal patterns.
Southern Drawl stocks a curated selection of gear built for the Lowcountry fishery—not a generic selection dumped in from a warehouse.
Custom Orders Available — If Southern Drawl doesn't have exactly what you need, they'll order it for you through their custom orders form.
Southern Drawl connects you directly with independent captains who operate their own charter services. Each guide specializes in different styles and target species:

Every last Tuesday of the month, Southern Drawl hosts fly tying nights led by local experts. These aren't just instruction—they're community. You tie alongside other anglers, learn new patterns and techniques, and get special discounts on fly shop purchases that evening. (Schedule adjusts during summer based on guide availability.)
Recent and upcoming clinics have included rod design fundamentals, offshore trolling principles, and specialized redfish techniques.
Southern Drawl Spring Redfish Showdown (artificial-only, three-fish slot limit, live weigh-in) draws serious inshore anglers. They also host Paint & Sip nights, skill clinics, and community gatherings throughout the year.

The Lowcountry features semi-diurnal tides (two high, two low per day) with a range of 5–7 feet. Flood tides—the rising water during high tide—are prime fishing windows. Water rushes into bays, estuaries, and marshes, allowing fish to access shallow feeding grounds and cover. Redfish and speckled trout become most active during these periods.
Hilton Head has a humid subtropical climate. Spring (March–May): 60s–80s. Summer (June–August): upper 80s–low 90s with afternoon thunderstorms. Fall (September–November): warm early, cooling into pleasant 60s–80s by October. Winter (December–February): mild, 50s–60s.
Southern Drawl monitors conditions from Grays Reef Buoy, located near Grays Reef National Marine Sanctuary offshore—your source for nearshore and offshore weather intel.
