Full description and what we offer
Sal Roseland brought his "new idea" home to the family ranch in 2002 after graduating from Northern State University. The plan met resistance from his grandfather Stan and father Steve—traditional farmers weren't thrilled about pivoting to pheasant hunts. Sal got the banker on board faster than his family. By 2005, the Heritage Lodge was built. Two years later came the Tradition Lodge. Today R&R hosts nearly 500 hunters annually from around the world.
The operation is still family-run. Steve and June Roseland manage the ranch. Sal and his brother Slade work the land. Deb and Kelly handle behind-the-scenes operations. The Roseland family homesteaded this ground in 1881—second-generation Norwegian immigrants named Gabriel and Elizabeth.

R&R has spent 7 years building a kennel with performance-bred Labrador Retrievers and German Shorthair Pointers. They run an active breeding program featuring only proven males and females. Each year they feature top performers from Hunters Point and Top Gun Kennels.
Their philosophy: quality over quantity. Every dog is expected to show passion in the field.
"Dogs provide more than just companionship. They possess sharp eyesight, keen hearing and an excellent sense of smell far superior to our own. When both man and dog are working together, no sound is necessary, and that is a beautiful thing."
