Full description and what we offer
Dakota Plains Taxidermy operates as a full-time master studio owned and operated by Dale Houser. Over 16 years of experience handling trophies from around the world, the studio has built its reputation on award-winning work with meticulous attention to detail.
"The closer you look, the better we look."
Their philosophy: each mount is a piece of art, not just another job.
The studio handles: - North American game: Whitetail, elk, moose, caribou, sheep, buffalo - Birds: Pheasant, upland game, waterfowl - African trophies: Antelope, cats, bears, and other dangerous game - Exotics: South Pacific and Argentine specimens - Custom work: Full lifesize mounts with custom poses and personality
Dakota Plains recently added "Hunting Adventures" to their business. They book hunts through outfitters they've personally hunted with or work exclusively with. This means one point of contact for your entire experience: pre-planning, the hunt itself, taxidermy work, and delivery or shipping of your completed mount.
Houser's work consistently wins at state and regional competitions:
The studio provides detailed care instructions for hunters:
If bleeding your trophy, cut with the grain of the fur, not against it. This prevents hair loss and allows clean re-stitching on the final mount.
