Full description and what we offer
Dave Spaid operates a fishing and hunting guide service covering over 1,100 square miles of water and some of the most productive game habitat in North America. Located near Pierre, South Dakota, he guides clients on Lake Oahe and the Missouri River system year-round.
Dave invented the "Slow Death" walleye rigging technique—a bait method now used by walleye tournament professionals across the nation. His deep knowledge of the lake and river system has consistently produced results for clients over decades.
"Dave preserves wildlife by creating new habitats. He is professional, courteous and helps city dwellers commune with nature in a relaxing environment filled with beauty and his fur baby dogs." — Morris Nutt, Memphis Tennessee (15+ year client)
Target walleye, smallmouth bass, northern pike, catfish, and salmon on waters created by four massive dams completed in the early 1960s. The system offers 900+ square miles of open water and 3,000 miles of shoreline. Fishing season is open year-round.
Unlike preserves, Spaid Farms manages wild pheasant habitat. The operation focuses on wildlife management, good cover, and undisturbed nesting ground. South Dakota's pheasant population dates to 1908, when farmers released birds that thrived on the prairie. A century of proper management has made this area prime hunting ground.
Book walleye or bass trips, pheasant hunts, or combination "blast and cast" trips mixing both fishing and hunting. Mount Rushmore is a couple hours away if you want to extend your trip.
