Metro Gun Systems

Metro Gun Systems manufactures a single, specialized product: replacement barrel extensions that reduce recoil and noise in shotguns without using conventional suppressors or silencers. Founded by L.P. Brezny and developed through extensive ballistic testing, the Metro Gun System™ uses a gas-venting extension design that cuts the report down to 72dB—roughly the sound level of two people talking at 150 feet.

The system is simple to install. Remove your shotgun's factory choke tube, thread the Metro Gun extension onto the barrel, and add your choke tube to the muzzle of the extension. That's it. No permanent modifications. No special ammunition required (though the system works best with low-velocity loads).

One-piece steel construction with proper bore alignment ensures accuracy and reliability. The steel comes from one of only two suppliers worldwide that produce the specialized material required for the system.

Metro Gun Systems™ puts ammunition to work in real hunting conditions. Federal Cartridge developed the first factory loads specifically for the Metro Gun System, engineered to stay in the 850-900 fps velocity range for optimal quiet operation.

Field testing includes:

• •Argentina (Cordoba) - Dove hunting with H&H Outfitters. Guides reported the gun produced "singing bullets"—the muzzle blast faded so quickly you could hear the shot whistling through the air. Doves were cleanly downed at 45-50 yards with no earplugs required.

• •Minnesota (St. Paul Pass) - Canada geese testing. At 40-yard decoys, the Metro Gun™ Tungsten/Iron loads produced nothing more than a muffled thump followed by shot impact. Zero recoil stress during multi-day hunts.

• •Louisiana (Gator Hunts) - The Lodge of Louisiana staff tested the system in big swamps. Cajun guides confirmed immediate operational value in marshland hunting where noise discipline matters.

Metro Gun Systems supports three ammunition choices:

1. Federal Cartridge Metro Gun™ Factory Loads - 2¾" and 3" loads with payloads of 7½ shot or Tungsten/Iron. Engineered specifically for the Metro Gun extension.

2. Remington STS - Available through your local gun dealer as a Metro Gun load choice.

3. Hand-Loaded Ammunition - Experienced reloaders can load sub-sonic ammunition for even lower cost per shot. Detailed handloading information available.

The system handles all SAMMI-standard shotshell ammunition, including slugs (use IC choke or rifled choke tubes for slug accuracy).

All Metro Gun barrels are now custom orders. A $100 deposit is required before construction begins. Delivery typically takes 2-3 weeks.

Metro Gun Systems also stocks remaining inventory from Hastings' closure in 2010. The Hastings Paradox rifled barrel features six lands and grooves with 1-in-34" twist (12ga) for increased slug stability and accuracy. These are among the most accurate shotgun replacement barrels ever tested.

Warning: Pre-1999 Remington Copper Solid Sabot ammunition (index PR 12 MAG RS and PR 12 RS) is not recommended for Hastings barrels due to reported barrel damage. Post-1999 versions (index PR 12 MCS and PR 12 CS) are safe to use.
