Full description and what we offer
HD Guide Service operates two hunting blinds on Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee's only naturally occurring lake and a major waterfowl destination along the Mississippi Flyway. The outfit was founded when guide Bradley Hobbs partnered with his father-in-law Rick Davis to share their decades of duck hunting experience with other hunters.
Buck Brush Blind – Holds up to 10 hunters with a full kitchen and heat. Typical birds: mallards, green-wing teal, wood ducks, gadwalls, pintails, shovelers, and specklebelly geese.
Timber Hole Blind – Also holds 10 hunters with heat and kitchen. Known for locked-up mallards and unbeatable sunrise views. Typical species: mallards, green-wing teal, wood ducks, and gadwalls.
Both blinds feature large decoy spreads with full motion and are positioned in proven spots that hold birds throughout the season.
Rate: $375 per person per day | 5-person minimum to book your own blind
All you need to bring: Gun, shells, and a valid hunting license. HD Guide Service handles everything else.
Bradley Hobbs – 25 years of duck hunting experience. Grew up hunting the bottomland along the Obion River and rice fields of Missouri before discovering Reelfoot Lake five years ago. Brad runs the operation with his wife Emily and often hunts alongside them.
Rick Davis – 40 years of duck hunting experience across Arkansas timber, Missouri rice fields, West Tennessee river bottoms, and now Reelfoot's cypress swamps. Rick works with his son-in-law Brad and brings trained Labrador retrievers to the blind for retrievals.
Cody Rodriguez – 20+ years of guide experience on Reelfoot waters. Born and raised on the lake with family duck hunting roots—his grandfather Claudie Rodriguez was also a guide. Cody handles crappie, bluegill, and catfish trips when not chasing ducks.
Reelfoot is one of the top duck hunting destinations on the Mississippi Flyway. The lake's shallow waters, cypress timber, and abundant vegetation hold incredible concentrations of mallards and other waterfowl, especially as weather pushes birds south during the season. Hunts can produce anywhere from slow days to massive flight days with multiple limits.
Tennessee resident and non-resident license requirements are handled easily:
Residents need: - Federal Duck Stamp ($25) - State license (Type 004 Sportsman $166, Type 002 Junior $10, or Type 167 Senior $50) - Reelfoot Lake permit (1-day $3.50, 3-day $10.50, or annual $17.50)
Non-residents need: - Federal Duck Stamp ($25) - State license (7-day $61.50 or annual hunt $111) - Reelfoot Lake permit
HD Guide Service can help explain all licensing requirements before your hunt.
"Hunting with you all has been amazing, from setting us up with rooms, to recommending where to eat, to checking on us when we first got there. The thing that really gets me is the way you treat people from the minute they step into that boat and head to the blind. We were not just a number. You treated my boys like they were yours, like family." – Thomas Smith, Chuckley, TN
"I've been hunting with Rick and Brad since they began guiding. I hunt with them every year! They have great blinds and boats, and you have to go to Reelfoot for a boat ride through the ditches. They know how to call ducks and serve tasty food in the blind." – Bob Sherwood, Linderhurst, IL
