Buck Horn Ranch operates a premium hunting destination on sprawling acreage near San Saba, Texas—about 2 hours west of downtown Austin. The property is built around a luxury lodge perched on a 4-mile hill with 100-mile views overlooking Llano Canyon and the surrounding Hill Country landscape.
Every hunt package is all-inclusive for 3 days and 2 nights, meaning lodging, meals, and professional guide service come with your booking. Non-hunting guests can tag along for $475/day.
The Lodge - 11,720 square feet of living space - 10 spacious suites with private bathrooms - Gourmet kitchen with modern appliances - Expansive living room with fireplaces - Sun room for gatherings - Covered and uncovered patios and decks - Trophy barn for displaying your harvest
Climate-controlled rooms give you a comfortable place to rest between hunts. Check-in is at noon, check-out at 1 PM. You'll do a mandatory rifle sight-in by 1:30 PM on arrival day before the evening hunt.
The ranch stocks 15 strategically positioned hunting blinds that can accommodate 3-5 hunters per blind. On average, you'll spot 20-30 animals per hunt from these blinds alone. The ranch operates on a MLD (Managed Lands Deer) program, and whitetail tags are furnished—you just need a valid Texas hunting license.

Whitetail pricing runs from $850 for a non-tagged doe up to custom pricing for 300"+ bucks:

The ranch maintains a diverse roster of 40+ exotic species year-round. Options range from affordable entry-level hunts like Catalina ($2,500) to premium African game like Kudu ($28,000) and Sables ($28,500).

The ranch offers guided bird hunts for quail, dove, pheasant, duck, and turkey in expertly managed habitats. Pricing is available on request.

The ranch tailors packages for corporate retreats, team building, weddings, family reunions, and private events. The scale accommodates large groups while maintaining personal service.
Every hunter (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after September 2, 1971 must complete hunter education and carry proof during the hunt.
