Full description and what we offer
Capt. James Shuler has spent three decades fishing and waterfowl hunting the waters around Port O'Connor. For the last 20 years, he's been running guided trips that put clients on fish and birds consistently.
Trips start around 6:00 am at Clark's Restaurant in Port O'Connor and run until approximately 3:00 pm. You'll fish the shallow waters of Espiritu Santo, San Antonio, and West Matagorda Bay for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder. It's common to catch all three species on a single trip.
Capt. James supplies all rods, reels, and artificial baits. Live bait is available for an extra cost. He handles cleaning and packaging your catch. Both wade fishing and drift fishing available, plus fly fishing for sight-casting to redfish—stalking tailing reds in inches of water.

More than 15 years of waterfowl guide experience on the Gulf Coast. Hunts focus on the tidal flats of Espiritu Santo Bay and San Antonio Bay among reeds and mangroves. Expect pintails, redheads, bluebills, and teal, plus bonus birds like wigeon and buffleheads.
The Cast-N-Blast combo is a unique option: trout and redfish in the afternoon, then duck hunting the following morning—all in one trip.
