Own Hatton Ranch?
01 // DETAILS
Full description and what we offer
Hatton Ranch is a family-owned hunting operation located in Young County near Graham, Texas—roughly 90 to 120 miles west of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The ranch sits on 780 acres of densely forested land with post oaks, blackjack oaks, white oaks, and mesquite. It's high-fenced, but hunts are described as both exciting and challenging. The operation manages wildlife and land conservatively under an intensive management program with a professional wildlife biologist.
Last fall, Hatton Ranch hosted 20 trophy whitetail hunters with 100% opportunity and harvest rates. Most hunters are already booking for the next season.
All whitetail buck hunts are guided one-on-one. Pricing uses Boone & Crockett scoring, and fees are split between a base hunt fee and a trophy fee (only paid if you harvest). The ranch takes the risk on scoring—if the final score is higher than the guide's estimate, you pay the lower amount. If it's lower, you pay the actual score.
| Hunt Type | Score Range | Days/Nights | Trophy Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Management Hunt | < 140" | 3 days / 3 nights | $2,000 |
| Classic Hunt | 140s-150s" | 3 days / 3 nights | $3,500 |
| Trophy Hunt | 160s-170s" | 4 days / 4 nights | $5,500 |
| Trophy Hunt | 180s-190s" | 4 days / 4 nights | $7,000 |
| Trophy Hunt | 200"+ | 4 days / 4 nights | $11,000 |
The $1,000 deposit is nonrefundable and secures your reservation. Final balance is due upon wounding or harvesting an animal. Gratuities (typically 10-15% of total cost) are at the hunter's discretion.
Two fully furnished 1-bedroom hunting cabins include: - Full kitchen - Private bathroom with shower - All linens provided - Cooking and eating utensils
Lodging costs $80 per night per cabin plus 6% hotel tax (included in base hunt fee). Groups are not mixed in cabins.
A professional chef can provide meals at an additional cost—must be arranged in advance.
Hunters can choose from multiple approaches: - Stationary blinds overlooking travel areas or food plots - Rattling during the rut (highly effective) - Predator calling for coyote and hog hunting - Spotting and stalking
The property features dense brush, large drainages for excellent cover, and diverse browse species. A year-round supplemental protein feeding program is in place, and the results show consistently improving deer quality.
Beyond hunting, Hatton Ranch operates an extensive whitetail breeding program focused on big-framed, wide typical bucks. The program supplies breeding stock to other ranches and breeders.
