Trail Ranch Outfitters started in 2010 with a clear mission: create shared outdoor experiences for every generation. They chose Albany specifically for the people, the town, and the hunting grounds—and it shows. Their guides have deep roots in Texas hunting, from upland birds to waterfowl to big game, and they structure every hunt around fellowship, skill-building, and land stewardship.

"Hunting is more than just harvesting an animal. It is fellowship, it is conservation, and it is stewardship."
They've assembled experienced hunters with serious credentials. Justin Trail leads quail operations and earned Lone Star Land Steward recognition from Texas Parks & Wildlife. Jeff Wilhoit has guided for 15 years. Zach Ehlers holds a wildlife biology degree and still guides every fall despite being a full-time firefighter. Seth Harrington specializes in big game and upland birds. Murrey McKee runs dove hunting operations. Andrew Walla brings 25+ years of Texas coast hunting and fishing experience.
Start with Youth Hunts — They recommend dove or quail hunting for first-timers and kids. You get proper gun handling instruction, hunting basics, and memories that stick.
Trail Ranch doesn't just talk stewardship—it's baked into operations. The team actively supports land conservation, wildlife habitat management, and organizations aligned with habitat preservation. When you hunt with them, you're supporting lands managed for long-term wildlife stability, not just one-season harvests.
