Full description and what we offer
Private Water Hunting operates a membership-based duck hunting club with exclusive access to private lakes scattered across North Texas—most within 90 miles of Dallas, many just an hour from downtown. The core concept is simple: you book a lake, you hunt it alone with your group. No competition. No boat ramps full of other hunters. One lake, all day, all yours.
The club manages over 100 properties across Texas. Featured duck hunting lakes include:
| Property | Location | Size | Distance from Dallas |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grain Bin Lake | Seagoville | 13 acres | 20 miles south |
| Wills Point Lake | Wills Point | 8 acres | 50 miles east |
| Kickapoo Lake | Various | 12 acres | ~1 hour |
| Tear Drop Lakes | Ennis | Multiple | ~45 minutes |
| JerMar Lake | Van Alstyne | 1/4 - 3 acres | ~1 hour |
Most properties are rock quarry lakes, which provide unique habitat and consistent water levels year after year.
Membership includes: - Unlimited hunting day reservations (based on membership tier) - Access to the entire network of private lakes - Use of hunting blinds (most properties) - No overcrowding—your group is the only one on the lake - Direct landowner relationships and permission to hunt - Online reservation system for easy booking
The club was founded on a stewardship-first philosophy. Steve Alexander built relationships with landowners based on trust, careful management of hunting pressure, and respect for the property. That same approach continues under current managing partners Joshua Massoud and Lindsay Polyak.
"I've been a member since 2005. After 30 years as a professional bass fishing guide, I knew what quality looked like. What struck me about this club wasn't the fish—it was what I didn't see. No jet skis. No crowds at the ramp. No ambient noise. Just solitude and wildlife." — Don Nichols, Member since 2005
Member feedback consistently highlights: - Solitude - actual peace and quiet on the water - Low entry cost - no big boat required, just a small pond boat or kayak with a trolling motor - High success rates - smaller, well-managed lakes with healthy fish populations - Family-friendly - children under 12 fish free on most properties - Wildlife viewing - deer, hogs, sandhill cranes, Canadian geese, owls
Steve Alexander - Founder and visionary who established the club's conservation-focused model over a decade ago.
