Alpha Mike Shooters

Alpha Mike Shooters is a USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) affiliated shooting club located in the San Antonio, Texas area. The club hosts competitive practical shooting matches at Lone Star Handgun Range in Converse, TX, providing an excellent opportunity for both experienced shooters and newcomers to participate in organized, sanctioned competitions.

Alpha Mike Shooters holds USPSA Level 1 matches every third Saturday of each month, with registration beginning at 9:15 AM and shooting commencing at approximately 10:00 AM. Each match features six stages with varying difficulty and shooting scenarios. Matches are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions.

This is a competitive pistol shooting club focused on practical shooting sports. Competitors engage in timed stages that require accuracy, speed, and tactical decision-making. Stages may include running, kneeling, and shooting from prone positions. The club also hosts special All Classifier matches annually (typically in August) where shooters can establish or improve their USPSA classification.

The club welcomes both USPSA members and non-members to compete. Match fees are $30 for non-members and $25 for Alpha Mike members. New shooters are encouraged to arrive early for a safety briefing with the Match Director and range officers. Volunteers—referred to as the Alpha Mike Shooters community—run the matches and handle setup and teardown, operating on a sweat-equity basis rather than membership fees.
