Ed Lowrey founded Rattlesnake Ridge after retiring from US Army Special Forces in 2000. He initially built and operated a large outdoor range complex on 1,000 acres south of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, training thousands of civilians alongside Army and Air Force personnel in rifle, pistol, CQB, and self-defense. When that facility closed in 2020 due to land lease issues, Rattlesnake Ridge transitioned to mobile training across Tennessee and Mississippi—maintaining the same depth of instruction without a fixed location.
Rattlesnake Ridge serves three audiences:
| Service | Details |
|---|---|
| Civilian Training | Self-defense fundamentals, state CCW courses |
| Armed Guard Certification | Tennessee and Mississippi state-certified |
| LEOSA Training | Retired law enforcement officer credentials |
| Instructor Courses | USCCA and NRA instructor-level certifications |
| Custom Programs | Tailored training for individuals and agencies |
| NFA Guidance | Partnered with NFA dealers to help you find the right tool |
| Tactical Gear & Equipment | Non-firearm products including electronic control devices, chemical sprays, and batons |
The instructor team brings decades of combined military, law enforcement, and civilian training experience with certifications from multiple national organizations.
They travel throughout Tennessee and Mississippi but maintain smaller ranges in both states. Rattlesnake Ridge also teams with gunsmiths and NFA firearms dealers, so they can guide you through everything from handgun selection to NFA approvals and machine gun purchases. They sell non-firearm tactical equipment and are a Reflex Product dealer.
Contact them at 931-648-8132 or email to schedule a class or discuss custom training needs.
