Full description and what we offer
NoTellum Outfitters specializes in guided mountain lion hunts across Eastern Utah. Winter hunts (November through March) involve early morning drives cutting fresh tracks, using trucks, ATVs, and snowmobiles across the terrain. Spring hunts (March through May) shift to dry-ground tracking where you watch hounds work hard to locate lions. Hunts run 1 to 5 days depending on weather and conditions.
You need a valid Utah hunting license and Mountain Lion harvest objective permit from Utah DWR. There's a three-day waiting period after purchase. Call 1-800-221-0659 to obtain tags.
Black bear hunting is available across multiple seasons. Spring limited-entry hunts run April 2 through May 30. Summer hunts go May 21 through June 26. Fall hunts split between August 20–September 27 and November 3–November 13. All hunts utilize hound dogs and include field transportation, game cleaning, and skinning.
You'll need to complete a Bear orientation online at Utah DWR before applying. Draw results typically post in March.
NoTellum also runs elk and deer hunts across the same territory—the Bookcliffs, South Slope/Diamond Mountain, North Slope, Three Corners, and West Daggett regions. Hunts accommodate hunters of varying skill levels and physical abilities.
NoTellum operates across thousands of acres of Eastern Utah terrain:
| Region | Details |
|---|---|
| Bookcliffs | BitterCreek/South units |
| Diamond Mountain/South Slope | Bonanza/Vernal areas |
| North Slope | Three Corners/West Daggett |
| Ashley National Forest | Additional hunting grounds |
| BLM Land | Special recreational permit holder |
Fully licensed and insured with a special recreational permit from BLM.
Dress in layers to avoid sweating and getting cold. Keep your day pack weight reasonable—you could hike many miles. Camouflage is optional; no orange required. Bring a light rifle (open sight recommended) or pistol since shots are typically close.
