Granite State Gun Dogs

Granite State Gun Dogs operates as a full-time training and boarding facility focused on versatile hunting dogs. Derek Antonioni's background spans all upland pointing breeds, flushing dogs, retrievers, blood tracking dogs, and companion obedience work. What sets them apart: they train the owner too, so you can maintain and build on what the dog learns once it goes home.

The Facility & Access

Their kennel sits on 200+ acres of training fields and ponds in Cornish, NH. They have direct access to numerous grouse and woodcock coverts—real hunting habitat, not just manicured grounds. This matters. Your dog gets exposed to actual game conditions during training.

They breed and train German Wirehaired Pointers specifically because these dogs hunt upland game, waterfowl, furred animals, and blood track—all in one package. Their dogs come from the German registered Drahthaar system, which means strong fur drive and sharp tracking ability. Cold tolerance compares to Labs for late-season waterfowling.

Their pups develop high prey drive and benefit from early bird exposure. They love to retrieve and are affectionate in the home, but these dogs need a job.
