Outback Outfitters operates as a booking agency connecting hunters and anglers with guided expeditions across the Adirondack Mountains of New York State and Vermont. Their tagline says it all: "It's all about the outback adventure."

The Adirondacks span 6 million acres of public land with some of the Northeast's most diverse game. Outback Outfitters has worked the region long enough to know which outfitters and camps deliver—they were themselves licensed New York State Outfitters.

The Adirondack Mountains hold some of the largest-bodied and thickest-racked bucks in the Northeast. Guided deer hunts include:

• •Guide pushes game and relocates hunter throughout the day
• •Comfortable lodging available
• •Game retrieval from the woods

Day trips and multi-day packages available. They work with several lodging companies and will build a custom package to fit your needs and budget.

Adirondack wild turkeys are harder and more unpredictable than other turkey species due to heavy predation and learned wariness. Services include:

Dec-Mar season. There's nothing like listening to beagles bark as they close in on snowshoe hare. Single-day or multi-day hunts available. Snowshoes provided if needed. Lodging arranged through partner camps. Season books up fast.

Hunt Eastern Coyotes (now documented as part wolf, up to 60 lbs), Red Fox, Grey Fox, and Bobcats.

Full guiding service available for Vermont moose season.

• •River Float Trips — Fly and spin fishing on the Hudson River Gorge with overnight camping. Wake to bacon and coffee, fish for wild rainbow trout, brown trout, and smallmouth bass. Full meals included (steak, chicken, potatoes, corn, rice, salad). All camping gear provided except sleeping bag.

• •1 night / 2 days: $450 (1 person) or $350/person (2+)
• •2 nights / 3 days: $650 (1 person) or $425/person (2+)

• •Adirondack Pond Fishing — Access remote brook trout ponds by canoe, kayak, jon boat, or pontoon. Fish for brook trout, brown trout, or bass. Spin or fly fishing. Lunch on the pond. Semi-guided trips available for those wanting independence.
