Blandfield sits on a restored colonial plantation in Essex County, Virginia, acquired and revitalized by the Wheat family in 1983. The property spans 4,000 acres including 600 acres of pristine tidal marsh, 700 acres of open farmland, and extensive timberland—each habitat carefully managed to attract premium game.

Their upland program runs late October through mid-March and features fast-flying, naturalized quail in habitat typical of southern Georgia hunting. Guests can expect 12-15 covey rises per hunt across three distinct hunting areas with varied terrain. Half-day and overnight packages accommodate up to six guns.

What's Included (Overnight Hunts): - Two hunts: afternoon arrival hunt plus morning hunt - First-class dogs and guides (steady to wing and shot) - Full exclusive use of the 5,000 sq ft lodge on the Rappahannock - Welcome lunch, appetizers, and world-class seated dinner by Chef Gregory - Continental breakfast, post-hunt brunch/lunch - Bird cleaning and packaging - No bird limits, no extra fees - Preserve licenses provided

Their 600-acre freshwater tidal marsh, impoundments, and creek system create prime waterfowl habitat. Three hunting seasons run mid-October (5-day early), late November through December, and mid-December through January. Typically two hunts per overnight package with 2-3 hunting parties per guide.

"Migratory waterfowl hunting at Blandfield is some of the finest on the Atlantic Flyway," with experienced guides providing world-class calling.
