Full description and what we offer
Started by Captain Pete Wallace as a charter boat operation four decades ago, Chincoteague Hunting & Fishing has expanded into a Coast Guard-rated operation rated as one of the top 100 greatest waterfowl outfitters in North America. The business operates across Virginia's Eastern Shore—one of the largest and most diverse waterfowl populations anywhere.
The Delmarva Peninsula is the winter home for massive populations of waterfowl. In a single day, you can hunt:
20+ bird daily limits are common. The variety means there's always a "Plan B" if conditions change.
Blinds & Locations - Approximately 100 blinds spanning 30+ miles from the Maryland-Virginia state line south - Marsh blinds overlooking ponds and creeks - Pole blinds in open bay and sound waters - Grass boats and floating portable blinds - Blinds throughout the Saxis Wildlife Management area on the Chesapeake Bay
Your Guide - Five full-time guides—all licensed Coast Guard Captains - Coast Guard-inspected vessels - Guides handle decoy setup, bird retrieval, and repositioning based on weather, tides, and bird movement - Multiple relocations throughout the day as conditions warrant
Saltwater marsh hunting is fundamentally different from flooded timber. Marsh grass rarely exceeds one foot. Success depends on camouflage, stillness, decoys, and location—not calling (except for geese and divers).
