Federal Way Discount Guns has operated continuously since opening 32 years ago, serving the Greater Seattle and Tacoma area. Important: This business is NOT affiliated with any other "Discount Guns" location.

The business operates as both a retail firearms store and an indoor shooting range.

Buying, selling, and trading firearms is the core retail operation:

• •Special orders available at 10% over cost
• •Consignment firearms accepted (10% commission or $50 minimum)

They also offer gunsmith services on site. A master craftsman has been with Federal Way Discount Guns for the full 32 years the business has been open. The gunsmith works Thursday through Saturday, noon to 6pm, and handles:

• •Slide cuts and optic mounting
• •Cerakote finishing in multiple colors and camo patterns
• •General firearms repair and modification
• •Custom work (call for specific requests)

Firearm transfers from online purchases or other dealers cost $50 per firearm. NFA items like silencers have a $150 transfer fee, though the shop often stocks silencers in-house to save customers on transfer costs.

The Federal Way Indoor Range (F.W.I.R) operates 7 days a week with two separate shooting areas:

Ruby Membership (Pay-Per-Use) - $15 per visit/day for unlimited range time - No sign-up or membership fees - Waiver valid for one year - Guests: $10 each (max 2 per lane)

Emerald Membership (Individual Annual) - $350/year ($29.17/month) or add $150 for Plus - Unlimited 7-day access (closed holidays) - Free handgun rentals - Complimentary eye/ear protection - 5% ammo and accessories discount - 10% class discount - Can shoot rifles up to 7.62×39 and shotguns with slugs only - Plus option: Tactical bay access (2 hours/month by appointment)

Diamond Membership (Family Annual) - $500/year ($41.67/month) or add $150 for Plus - Up to 2 adults + 2 children (ages 12-18) - Same benefits as Emerald - Plus option: Tactical bay access included

Law Enforcement & Military Discount: 10% off range memberships (current or retired, ID required). Seniors 60+ also get 10% off. Discounts cannot be combined.

Handgun Rentals - Single Caliber: Unlimited selection within one caliber - Unlimited Caliber: Access to any caliber handgun in inventory - Selection includes 22 to 44 Magnum

Rifle Rentals - Semi-automatic tactical rifles - Starting at $15 (call for specific models)

Shotgun Rentals - Standard shotgun: $15 - Shotgun with optic: $25 - Slugs only

Rental Requirements: - Valid photo ID (driver's license or government-issued) - 18+ for shotguns - 21+ for handguns and rifles - Ages 18-20 need parent/guardian permission letter or accompaniment by legal guardian 21+ - Minors 12-17 need parent/guardian present or written permission - Ammunition purchased at the range (required) - Range Safety Officer approval of handling safety

Ammunition Rules: - Brass cased only - Steel case not permitted - All rifles must have some form of sights (iron or optics)

Tactical Defensive Shooting Night - Tuesday 5:00-7:00pm in open/tactical bay - $30 entrance fee - Shoot tactical rifles, handguns, shotguns - Courses include static and movement-based shooting - Practice: weapon transitions, reload drills, shooting on the move - Optional timing available - Houses, car doors, barrels, and tires set up for realistic scenarios

Ladies Day - Tuesday all day - 50% off range fees - Practice with other women shooters

Free Handgun Rental Wednesday - All day Wednesday - Any handgun 22 to 44 Magnum - Ammunition not included (must purchase at range)

Private Groups & Parties - Minimum 3 people, maximum 30 - Tactical bays available for rent by the hour - Starting at $199.99/hour (2-hour minimum) - Perfect for birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, corporate team building, family events - Range Safety Officers and Professional Instructors available (additional fees apply) - Equipment provided: barriers, steel plate racks, target stands, targets - Classroom included for safety briefing and refreshments - Group discounts available for firearms and ammo rentals - Minors welcome with adult family members

Basic Handgun Class - 5 hours long - Recommended for little-to-no experience shooters - Topics: safety, loading/unloading, semi-automatic pistols and revolvers, shooting fundamentals, stance, grip, trigger control, sight alignment - $195/person - Firearms and ammunition included - Must be 18+ - Bring pen and paper for notes

Private Instruction - One-on-one with experienced instructor - $220 for 2 hours (1 student) - $70 additional per second student - Customized curriculum: marksmanship, technique, new gun operation, conceal carry, gun handling - Schedule at your convenience
