Wisconsin's whitetail tradition dates back centuries to Native American hunters and early settlers. By the early 1900s, unregulated hunting nearly depleted the herds, but Wisconsin pioneered state conservation programs and regulated seasons. Today, Wisconsin is nationally recognized as one of the premier whitetail destinations in the United States.
