Location details and information
The Shiocton Shooting Range opened over 50 years ago as a community resource, built with funding from the Pittman Robertson program (federal firearms and ammo taxes), Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the NRA Foundation.
Located inside Shiocton Lake Park northwest of Appleton, the facility includes:
The 2014-2015 renovation ($600K) completely restructured the layout, adding a concrete wall between the 50/100 yard range and the 200/300 yard range. A gravel road now separates the 500 and 200/300 yard ranges, allowing shooters to drive down and check targets without crossing active fire lanes.
| Option | Cost |
|---|---|
| Daily pass | $10 |
| Annual pass | $60 (Jan 1 - Dec 31) |
All shooters must read range rules and sign an agreement before shooting. Daily passes required while on range.
A Range Safety Officer Utility Shed provides volunteer RSOs at various times to oversee range safety. The Village is planning an Educational Facility for firearm training and certifications.
