- •Free shipping threshold: Orders totaling $250 or more ship free to contiguous US addresses.
- •Firearm transfers: If you're buying handguns, stockless shotguns, complete AR/AK receivers, or stripped lower receivers, the order ships to a licensed FFL dealer of your choice. You must be:
- •A legal resident of the state where you're ordering
- •21 years of age or older (with military deployment exceptions)
- •Handgun shipping requirements: Must ship UPS second-day air. Long gun or handgun shipping surcharges apply.
- •Ammunition restrictions: No shipments to PO boxes, APO, or FPO addresses. Hazmat surcharges may apply depending on order contents.
State-specific restrictions are strict. California, New York, Illinois, Connecticut, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and other states have detailed prohibitions on certain calibers, magazine capacities, and firearm types. Verify your local laws before ordering—AmmoHero won't knowingly ship to restricted areas, and violation attempts result in 20% cancellation fees.
- •30-day window: All return/exchange requests must be submitted within 30 days of receipt
- •Restocking fee: Up to 20% on returns and exchanges
- •NO returns on ammunition, powder, or primers under any circumstances

Once submitted, orders can't be edited. Cancellations are handled case-by-case and only if they haven't entered the packaging queue. A 6% cancellation fee applies (the credit card processing fee they're charged). Refusing delivery triggers a 6% restocking fee plus return shipping costs.
They offer Sezzle financing—breaking payments into installments on qualifying orders.
AmmoHero publishes ballistics data (like their Aguila 9mm test results) and hosts a 2025 Ammo Excellence Awards voting section, suggesting they invest in transparency and community feedback.
They maintain inventory across multiple price points—from budget steel-cased options to premium bonded duty ammunition and match-grade HPBT rounds for precision shooting.
