Cowboy Action Match

Cowboy Action is a timed shooting competition where you move through Old West scenarios using period firearms—single-action revolvers, lever rifles, and shotguns—while wearing a character alias and costume. It's a break from static range shooting: you're solving practical problems the way a frontier gunfighter might, and the scoring rewards speed without sacrificing accuracy.

Shooters stage through multiple scenarios on April 12 at Lander Gun Range, engaging targets in sequences that test your draw, reload speed, and transitions between guns. Everyone adopts an Old West persona, which makes the whole thing feel less like competition and more like a shooting story you're acting out. The format keeps your brain engaged from stage to stage.
