Applied Technical Services (ATS) is a full-service forensic engineering laboratory specializing in firearms testing and analysis. Located with operations across multiple states, ATS handles complex firearm investigations, manufacturer testing, and legal/litigation support.

ATS conducts inspection and testing on:

  • Handguns — including drop safety testing per California requirements (11 CCR § 4060)
  • Rifles — ballistic performance, overpressure analysis, bolt failure investigation
  • Shotguns — cylinder explosions, barrel rupture analysis
