Full description and what we offer
Barbour WMA Shooting Range is a public shooting facility operated by the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. It sits about 5 miles south of Comer, just off Highway 49, roughly 1 mile north of Barbour County Public Fishing Lake.
The range offers shooting opportunities at 25-yard and 100-yard distances. A separate concrete pad is dedicated to shotgun clay target shooting, located south of the pistol range. The two main ranges are divided by an earthen berm, which means you can work downrange independently on each—no waiting for everyone to clear.

Barbour WMA is part of Alabama's Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, which manages hunting, fishing, wildlife, state lands, and state parks across the state. It's a public resource funded by conservation dollars.
You need a valid license to use the range. If you don't have one, grab it before heading out—online at the DCNR website, by phone at 1-888-848-6887, or at any retail vendor. Residents aged 16-64 have multiple license options (hunting, fishing, heritage, or WMA). Non-residents must have either a WMA license or non-resident hunting license.
Show up during daylight hours. If you need to shoot outside those times, you can request a permit.
