Certified Firearm Appraisals LLC is built on one principle: because they don't buy or sell firearms, every appraisal comes without agenda. Gary R. McAllister, the appraiser, holds certification #GM236991 from the American Gunsmithing Institute and brings two decades of hands-on experience to every evaluation.
McAllister isn't just an appraiser—he's a professional gunsmith who's worked on thousands of firearms across all eras. He's also a notary and Master Maine Guide. That background means he understands condition, functionality, and fair market value in ways generic appraisers simply don't. He can spot what actually works, what needs repair, and what affects resale value.
"Non-working firearms certainly are not worth the same amount as alike working one. Because I have seen all the working parts on most firearms I can give you an honest fair market value on your non-working firearms."
Online Appraisals - For most firearms, good photos and dimensions work fine. You fill out the gun information form, upload photos or video, and McAllister handles research and evaluation remotely. You get mailed paperwork plus a digital copy.
On-Site Appraisals - Large collections or condition-dependent pieces benefit from in-person evaluation. McAllister schedules appointments to inspect and photograph your firearms, then researches and documents everything back at the office. Same delivery: mailed paperwork and digital copy.
Every appraisal is professionally prepared and meets court presentation standards plus IRS requirements for qualified appraisals. Photographs are included—printed with the document or on flash drive, your choice. All fees are agreed to before work starts.
