Etowah Public Shooting Range

Etowah Public Shooting Range offers shooters four separate ranges set up side-by-side with dividing berms—25, 50, 100, and 200 yards. This layout lets multiple shooters work independently without affecting each other's sessions. There's also a concrete pad dedicated to shotgun clay shooting south of the 25-yard pistol range.

All ranges are wheelchair accessible with concrete walkways running to the target lines for downrange access. This isn't an afterthought—it's part of the core design.

The range will soon undergo a major renovation, with new ranges, a classroom, and expanded staff.

The facility undergoes periodic maintenance and cleaning closures. Check their website for notices before you visit.

Alabama Residents (ages 16-64): Valid hunting, heritage, fishing, or WMA license required

Non-Residents (age 16+): Valid WMA or non-resident hunting license required

Licenses available online, by phone (1-888-848-6887), or through retail vendors.

• •Legal firearms and ammunition only (no armor-piercing or tracer rounds)
• •Shotguns #4 shot or smaller on designated clay areas
• •No alcoholic beverages
• •All brass, targets, hulls, and trash must be disposed of properly
• •Paper targets, self-healing, or metal automatic reset targets only
• •Shots must impact the bottom 5 feet of the embankment
