Family Expeditions

Family Expeditions runs a 14,000 sq ft log lodge on Lake Guntersville—90 minutes from Birmingham—offering high-end guided hunts for quail, pheasant, and whitetail deer. This isn't a walk-in range or retail shop. It's a full hunting destination where groups, families, and corporate teams spend 1-3 days pursuing game across carefully managed land.

• •Quail & Pheasant: 1,000 acres in Browns Valley planted specifically for bobwhite quail in a plantation-style setup. Fields are stocked with Grain Sorghum, Millet, Egyptian Wheat, and Partridge Pea to support the population. Mixed bag hunts add pheasant. Guides work 5-8 well-trained dogs each—Pointers, Setters, Brittany Spaniels, and Cocker Spaniel flushers. Hunts happen in specially modified jeeps, typically 2 hunters per vehicle.

• •Whitetail Deer: 700-acre trophy-managed, high-fence preserve. All hunts run 1×1 (guide-to-hunter ratio). You choose your method: insulated 9×5 shooting houses, ladder stands, spot-and-stalk, or rattling. They use supplemental feeding and food plots designed for antler development. Two rut windows—November and January—with rifle, muzzleloader, bow, and crossbow all permitted.

• •8 bedrooms, each with private bathroom (3 kings, 3 double-bed rooms, 2 bunk rooms sleeping 7-8 each)
