Location - STEEL CITY PRECISION

Steel City Precision operates a dedicated 660-acre precision rifle training and competition facility located in central Alabama, approximately 1 hour from Birmingham and 35 minutes from Tuscaloosa. Situated within 30,000 acres of timberland, the property is specifically designed around natural terrain, target detection, and realistic field scenarios—not flat-range shooting.

The facility spans 2 miles with shooting areas throughout, offering engagements from contact distance to 2,440 yards. The 240-degree range fan forces shooters to manage wind calls across multiple angles—this isn't a "hold left edge" setup. Targets are hidden throughout varied terrain (tall grass, partially forested, heavily vegetated) and painted to match surroundings, requiring shooters to develop target detection skills.

All shooting areas past the main gate are blind courses with holding areas that separate teams, eliminating "gaming" and ensuring fair evaluation of skills under realistic stress.

SCP hosts four primary competition formats:

• •Military/Law Enforcement: The facility is purpose-built for SF sniping community needs. Training incorporates target detection, team movement scenarios, realistic target presentations, and can integrate land navigation, MRZR operations, and dirt bike movement planning.

• •Civilian: Vetted training groups can lease the facility for private civilian instruction.

• •Zach Stamp — 5th Special Forces Group veteran (9 years active duty, 3 combat deployments vs. ISIS); Special Forces Sniper Course Level 2 instructor; 20th SFG SFSC program manager; 3rd place USASOC 2020
• •Walt Sailers — Original Accurate Ordnance team member; competed in Allegheny Sniper Challenge, NF ELR, Mammoth Sniper Challenge; early Steel City match competitor and match director

• •From Birmingham: Take 20W/59S toward Tuscaloosa to exit 97; south on AL5/US-11 for 8.1 miles; left onto Vance Blocton Rd for 5.1 miles; right onto N. Scottsville Rd for 3.9 miles; right onto Cedar Grove/Serty Boyd Rd; follow yellow gate and orange SCP signs.

• •From Tuscaloosa: Take 20E/I-59 North toward Birmingham for 17 miles to Mercedes drive exit; left on US-11 for 2 miles; right on Vance Blocton Rd for 5.1 miles; right on N. Scottsville Rd for 3.9 miles; right on Cedar Grove/Serty Boyd Rd.
