Kodiak Concealed Carry Course

Accurate Advantage delivers the Alaska concealed handgun permit course through a two-day format: classroom instruction followed by live-fire qualification. The course is designed for anyone 21 or older seeking lawful concealed carry.

The first day runs 9:00am–5:00pm and covers the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed for lawful self-defense. Instruction uses real-world scenarios, interactive teaching, and humor to make the material stick. A certified law enforcement officer co-instructs alongside Accurate Advantage staff, drawing on decades of personal experience.

Topics include Alaska law, justified self-defense principles, and foundational safety—all wrapped around actual cases that shaped how defensive situations play out.

The shooting portion runs 2:30pm–6:30pm at the range facility. Students fire 150–200 centerfire rounds (no rimfire) and must pass a written test plus shooting proficiency test to complete the course.

Previous handgun experience is required. Accurate Advantage believes a solid foundation in safety, marksmanship, and function should come before earning a permit.

Students should bring their own handgun if possible. Firearms are provided if yours becomes unusable or presents fit/function issues. A sturdy belt, outside-the-waistband or concealed carry holster, and magazine pouch are required—but Accurate Advantage loans these if needed.
