"The fishing for rainbows and salmon is outstanding, and the service exceptional. We are proud to award Stephan Lake Lodge our Lodge of the Year Award." — The Alaska Angler
Alaska Outdoors Magazine reported 143 rainbows (18-26 inches) caught in one day. Fishing the Northcountry noted 75-100 trout per day and highlighted famous visitors including John Denver. Guests have swept national fly fishing records—one angler took 76 king salmon (30-60 pounds) in a week and won all line-class fly fishing categories in the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame.
All trips include experienced guides who know animal behavior, wilderness navigation, and region specifics. Safety and comfort are stated top priorities. Guides accompany you whether trekking, fishing, or hunting.
Fly-in via bush plane from Anchorage or Lake Hood. Hotel shuttle available. Flights typically depart in morning, return early evening (day trips) or multi-day packages available. The floatplane flight itself is considered a standout experience—passing Mount McKinley and traversing unspoiled Alaskan wilderness.
