Full description and what we offer
Dynamic Combative Solutions started in March 2019 when David Laird, the owner, decided to run his own operation after managing a large firearms training school with 30+ instructors across 3 locations. Laird's background isn't impressive on paper—it's intimidating. He served with the 82nd Airborne Division as a squad leader in Infantry, returned to Iraq as a civilian contractor in 2007-2008, then built his entire career in firearms instruction and security operations.
Today he works as a Regional Training Director for a private security contractor while running DCS, and continues to mentor the next generation of instructors.

"After 13 years in the military and federal law enforcement, DCS was the missing link for me. Dave and Chris identified several minor things that once I changed, made all the difference. Their expertise and professionalism is exceptional, but I appreciated most their ability to explain concepts and bring clarity to things I thought I understood." — James W., Tempe
"A good instructor can teach fundamentals. A great instructor can make them habitual. After your class, my last several range sessions have been directed and gratifying." — Henry C., Phoenix
"I've taken 2 classes with DCS. The instructors make it clear from the word go they're invested in your learning. No matter the class size, they work with you individually. Classes are affordable and the instructors know what ammo costs, so they make every round count." — Joshua P., Chandler
"If you want to get properly trained by someone with ridiculous shooting skills, check out DCS. David can identify your shooting issue, show you the correction, and your next shot will reflect that instruction. You will get diamonds and gold from this training." — John Hunter, Mesa
"David makes it a point to make everyone feel comfortable. He gave us (future instructors) tips on how to approach people who've had trauma, people who are handicapped, and women so they feel safe. He puts you through the ringer to make sure you're ready to teach." — Kevin
DCS requires trainees to observe an instructor's abilities with students first before formal enrollment. This isn't gatekeeping—it's showing they actually care about who's in class.
Classes are structured, affordable (instructors know ammo costs matter), and every round counts. Precision work gets individual attention. Safety is non-negotiable.
