Full description and what we offer
APEX Outdoors started in February 2017 when four friends—three veterans, two medically retired from service injuries—decided to turn their outdoor and training skills into something bigger. Today it's a full operation led by Chase Thompson, a former Army sniper and sergeant with nine years of service.
"The course & instruction was very helpful in overcoming my fears. Instructors were patient, knowledgeable, and delivered more than expected." — Sedena M.
APEX draws from a crew with military, government agency, and outdoor expertise backgrounds. Classes accommodate mixed skill levels in single sessions—testimonials consistently mention patience, thorough law knowledge (Arizona-specific), and ability to build confidence in new shooters.
They work with youth ages 12+, offering introductory courses that emphasize safety and responsibility while keeping training engaging and fun.
APEX provides excursions and accommodations specifically designed for disabled veteran outdoors enthusiasts, ensuring the same experiences regardless of ability level. The operation also offers CPR training and hosts both in-home classes and group events.

"Chase teaches to your knowledge level and builds from there. I left training feeling more comfortable and more prepared to handle my firearms than I have ever felt." — Shelly E.
Whether you're starting from zero with firearms or sharpening advanced skills, APEX combines veteran-grade instruction with a focus on building actual confidence—not just checking boxes.
