Founded in 1953 by a group of former Marines, Prescott Sportsmen's Club is an Arizona nonprofit dedicated to firearms safety and recreational shooting. The club operates as an NRA-affiliated organization managed by its Board of Directors and corporate officers.
The club originally operated the Granite Basin Range in the National Forest near downtown Prescott for decades before the Forest Service requested closure for lead abatement. In 2013, with funding from Arizona Fish and Game and member labor, the club built and operated the Chino Valley Shooting Facility—featuring 20 pistol positions and 30 rifle firing lines across 100-yard and 200-yard ranges.
The club lost access to that facility in 2019 when the Town of Chino Valley terminated their license. Since then, the club has focused on finding a new range location.
Dues payments are currently suspended. Club membership includes:
Active Rebuilding: The Board of Directors' stated goals include acquiring land for a new range, procuring funding, and developing and operating a new private club facility.

The club has produced Distinguished Shooters across multiple categories—from International Shooter and Rifleman to Pistol Shot and Smallbore positions. Members have earned these honors dating back to 1924, reflecting decades of competitive excellence and marksmanship tradition.
