ARES Arms specializes in FFL transfers for firearms purchased elsewhere. If you're buying from another dealer or private sale, they handle the receiving end—authenticating shipments, processing paperwork, and getting you through the background check.

The process is straightforward:

1. Send transfer details to [email protected] or fax (409) 684-0395: - Your name and phone number - Firearm description - Shipping FFL's contact info

2. Wait for processing — typically 1-4 days depending on incoming freight volume

3. They contact you when ready (don't call them, they'll call you)

4. Pick up with valid ID and pass NICS background check

ARES Arms only accepts transfers from valid FFL dealers. Private individuals cannot ship directly—they must take the firearm to an FFL dealer first. This protects the dealer's ability to verify sender authenticity and package contents.

All firearms will be considered abandoned after 90 days if not picked up.

If you need to transfer a gun to another dealer from ARES Arms, they require a current copy of that dealer's FFL beforehand.
