Full description and what we offer
Drew Estell built BAER Solutions on a decade of special operations experience, multiple combat deployments, and a straightforward belief: no two shooters are identical, but fundamentals are universal.
His core teaching methodology centers on one principle—who wins is who gets accurate shots on target fastest. Everything trained on the flat range translates directly to real-world application. The training isn't designed to look cool. It's designed to perform when it counts.
"In training you can expect me to give the personal attention to your success that others have afforded me in my career. From you, I expect you to bring an open mind and be motivated to learn from each class. When it's time to work, it's time to work." — Drew Estell, Owner
Estell's core teaching tenets:
- •Maximum one-on-one feedback during every class
- •Personal investment in each student's progress
- •Understanding why each student is attending
- •Identifying specific needs to address
- •Remaining open to new techniques that increase lethality
- •Explaining the reasoning behind every drill
- •Assessing proficiency level accurately
- •Refining fundamentals to support advancement
- •Maximizing economy of motion in every movement
Level 1 Pistol & Rifle — Foundation building with rapid progression. Students work on grip, sight picture, and trigger control in the morning, then move quickly into multi-target transitions and introduction to movement. This isn't your typical basic class.
Level 2 Pistol & Rifle — Advanced application building on Level 1 foundation. Technical note: while students technically can attend Level 2 without Level 1 if they've completed other reputable courses, Estell has found that even experienced shooters from other programs benefit from his specific Level 1 progression.
Back-to-Back Training — The courses are designed to be taken consecutively and Estell recommends this approach for maximum benefit.
Courses by Request — Custom instruction available for specific needs.

Estell provides downloadable training targets designed for specific skill development:
- •BAER Standards Target — Cold-start performance assessment. Shoot from holster at 5 meters: 5 rounds each to two targets, slide lock reload to center circle with 3 rounds. Pass is 9 seconds or faster.
- •Danny Warm-Up Target — 150-round progression covering sight alignment, trigger squeeze, draws, reloads, cadence, recoil management, and throttle control. Two separate target pages for pistol and rifle modifications.
- •Seth Target ID Primer — Developed with assistance from a SOCOM Mental Performance Coach. Trains the Hands-Aim-Shoot method of target identification to move beyond pure marksmanship into threat assessment.
- •Zero Target — Designed for rapid optics/laser zeroing at 25 meters with 50/200 zero confirmation and Insight LA-5/PEQ-15 laser offset setup.
- •DocHuhn's Cadence Target — Cadence and rhythm drills for sight tracking development across single and multiple targets.
- •Joe Dry Fire Target — 12 different target types for dry fire practice with suggested drill progressions. Note: dry fire trains everything except recoil impulse and trigger reset—maintain identical grip during dry fire as you do live fire.
All targets are free to download, print, and distribute for personal, department, unit, or training use.
Cancelations made two weeks or more before course start date receive course credit for future classes. Those with prior payment get first priority for future slots.
