Full description and what we offer
Banks Gunsmithing opened in 2017 to fill a gap in Central Arkansas: a genuinely skilled gunsmith doing quality work at fair prices. Scott Banks brings formal training and a straightforward approach—no corporate overhead, no BS pricing.
Full restoration services ranging from basic cleaning to complete hot bluing and wood refinishing. This isn't buffing and hoping—Banks strips metal, removes imperfections, polishes and re-blues all steel parts, then strips and refinishes wood to remove scratches and dings.
Service Menu: - General clean with safety check ($55) - Full clean and detailing with barrel inspection ($115) - Complete hot blue and refinish—revolver/pistol ($195) or rifle/shotgun ($295)
Add-ons include checkering re-cuts, bolt jeweling, and finish upgrades (400-grit to 600-grit polish adds $100).
Flat rate option: $85/hour for work not on the menu.
"You will find service and quality work that you can take to the bank. Also you will get all the conversation you want from Scott Banks, the Gunsmith. He loves visitors and will talk forever!"
This is literally in their marketing and it's accurate. Scott's commute is 21 feet (home-based shop), so he'll stay late if you call ahead—just call 501-772-5612 to confirm he's there.
