Full description and what we offer
Mark Czarnecki and his wife Sabreena started Cosmic Cerakote after Mark's service with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty and a deployment to Baghdad in 2017. After transitioning out of the Army in January 2018, Mark worked as a security contractor and eventually earned his Cerakote certification from NIC Industries while partnering at The Rock Guns in Fayetteville. In time, they launched Cosmic Cerakote & Design to run their own operation—blending military precision with artistic vision.
"Cosmic Cerakote was born from our desire to spend more time as a family while pursuing a passion for art and craftsmanship."
Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that bonds directly to metal, plastic, and some polymers. It's oven-cured and engineered for durability, not just looks. The finish is:
Unlike powder coat or paint, Cerakote becomes part of the surface rather than sitting on top of it. That's why it lasts longer and performs better under real-world abuse.
| Feature | Powder Coat | Cerakote |
|---|---|---|
| Thickness | Thicker application | Thin, precise |
| Detail Preservation | Covers fine details | Maintains tight tolerances |
| Durability | Good, but chips on impact | Superior abrasion resistance |
| Best For | Large industrial items | Firearms, tools, precision parts |
| Application | Industrial spray booths | Factory-certified professionals |
Powder coat is great for outdoor furniture or car frames. Cerakote wins when you need maximum performance, detailed customization, and a finish designed for precision equipment.
Properly applied Cerakote can last:
In many cases, Cerakote outlasts factory finishes and the original part itself. But longevity depends on four critical factors:
1. Surface Preparation — Media blasting, degreasing, and controlled environment. This is where cheaper shops cut corners. 2. Application Quality — Correct film thickness and curing per manufacturer specs. Consistency beats speed. 3. Use Case & Environment — How the item is handled, stored, and exposed to elements matters. 4. Maintenance & Care — Low-maintenance, not zero-maintenance. Mild soap and water, avoid harsh abrasives.
Cerakote won't flake like traditional paint. Under extreme abrasion, it wears gradually—similar to how leather develops character over time.
Why professional application lasts longer: Cosmic Cerakote brings experience with different materials, proper equipment, controlled prep and curing, and accountability for results. That's the difference between a coating that looks good for a season and one that performs for years.
Cerakote started in the tactical and firearms world, but it's moved into everyday applications:
Motorcycles & Cars — Headers, exhausts, levers, and wheels resist high temps, road grime, and chemicals. Cosmic Cerakote completed a Kawasaki Ninja 650 build with a deep Guncandy Stingray finish.
Drinkware & Tumblers — Won't chip, fade, or wash off. Perfect for matching your gear or adding custom logos.
Tools & Knives — Adds corrosion resistance and a clean matte finish that doesn't flake under stress. Great for mechanics and EDC enthusiasts.
Golf Clubs & Fishing Gear — Saltwater, humidity, and constant impact? No problem. Cosmic Cerakote has tested coatings on spool plates with excellent results.
Electronics & Accessories — Laptops, game controllers, vape mods—anything that gets handled and scuffed benefits from a sleek, durable shell.
Cosmic Cerakote specializes in custom designs that blend:
Every piece is anchored in functionality first, then elevated through creativity. The shop's tagline says it all: "If it's not rubber, we can coat it. If it's art, we can make it shine."
Cosmic Cerakote is NIC Industries certified—meaning Mark completed training and certification through the makers of Cerakote themselves. Every project is backed by factory-level standards, not DIY shortcuts.
For quotes, questions, or project consultations, you can text, email, or reach out through their website. They're happy to discuss options, finishes, and use cases before anything hits the booth.
