Full description and what we offer
Black Ops Paintball & Airsoft operates organized milsim (military simulation) events that go beyond typical skirmishes. Their flagship event, Cape Fear Rebellion VIII, runs as a 3-day operation in North Carolina with structured faction-based gameplay and comprehensive rules designed for realistic combat simulation.
These aren't walk-in field days—events are ticketed and pre-registered. Participants choose between two factions (The Federation in tan or MADF in green), spawn at designated bases, and engage in multi-objective operations. The event format emphasizes integrity-based gameplay where players self-report hits, call their own eliminations, and follow strict tactical rules of engagement.
Black Ops maintains detailed specifications for every weapon category:
| Weapon Type | FPS Range | Features |
|---|---|---|
| Rifleman | 0-1.55 Joules | Semi-auto only, mid-cap mags |
| DMR | 1.55-2.0 Joules | Magnified scope required, 75ft MED |
| LMG | 0-1.86 Joules | Full auto at 25 RPS cap, box/drum mags |
| Sniper | 1.55-2.5 Joules | Bolt action, 100ft MED |
| SMG/Shotgun | 1.0 Joules | Max 25 RPS (SMG) or 6 BBs/pump (shotgun) |
All weapons must chrono with .32g BBs (provided). No binary triggers allowed across all categories. Players must bring empty mags to the chronograph station.
Hand grenades are restricted to TAGs, TLSFX, Thunder B's, and Enola Gaye brand units only—inert rubber grenades don't count. Flash/bang simulators have a 15-foot kill radius indoors and outdoors, with damage affected by cover type:
Rocket launchers and 40mm grenade launchers accept TAGIN rounds (chalk or pyro) for indirect fire. 3D-printed rounds are allowed but must be inspected at the TOC table before use. Hand grenades must be monitored by the thrower for fire safety—all brush fires are the thrower's responsibility to extinguish.
Blank fire is absolutely not authorized. All pyrotechnics must be commercially produced 1.4C-rated ordnance. Homemade explosives are prohibited.
Vehicles provide mobile firepower but follow strict operational guidelines:
Vehicles take 2 rocket hits in 5 minutes to eliminate. BBs cannot damage vehicles or eliminate crew. Staff vehicles are off-limits to all fire.
Eye protection is non-negotiable: - ANSI Z87.1-1989 rating minimum, fully sealed - Worn at all times—no exceptions - Players under 18 must wear face mesh + eye pro - Hearing protection advised (noise can exceed 120 dB)
Airsoft operates on player integrity. Hits count on any body part, gear, or secondary weapon. When hit, immediately fall and call loudly—the noise from gunfire makes verbal calls essential. Wounded players have up to 5 minutes to be revived by a live teammate applying their personal tourniquet (arm placement only). Friendly fire counts. If both players fire simultaneously and hit each other, both are out.
Free undeveloped camping is first-come, first-served (no power/water). Developed camping with water or power/water combos available by reservation. Shower passes cover the entire weekend. Food is provided Saturday lunch through early evening and Sunday lunch until game end.
Cape Fear Rebellion VIII pricing: - Early bird: $50 (ends 2/22/26) - Pre-registration: $60 (2/23–5/24) - Day of: $80
Camping opens Friday 10 am. Ages 11+ eligible (ages 11-12 must have parent/guardian present). All minors under 18 require signed parental waivers.
Official event sponsors include Tippmann, Elite Force, Enola Gaye, and MOS Manufacture. Raffle prizes donated by these brands.
