SMC Williams Guide Service combines decades of field expertise with a family-driven approach to guided hunts. Sam McGuire started guiding in high school and has worked across California and Wyoming. Colby Williams was born into the hunting lifestyle—his father was one of California's first licensed guides—and has been in the field since age 10. Together, they deliver fully guided hunts where one of the owners participates in every single outing.
Wild hog hunting is their specialty. Hunts run day and a half on free-range private ranches across Monterey, San Benito, San Luis Obispo, Fresno, Merced, and Tulare counties. They hold a near 100% opportunity rate and are known for consistently harvesting trophy-class hogs exceeding 200 pounds. Average meat hogs run 120-170 pounds. No trophy fees—if you pass on an animal, a $500 extension fee extends your hunt.
"We measure success by opportunity. We hold nearly 100% opportunity rate on hogs, but don't guarantee outcomes since animals are wild and out of our direct control."
Hunt Rio Grande wild turkeys in their prime. Spring hunts focus on gobblers in full strut across San Luis Obispo County's premier ranch habitat. Fall hunts available when capacity allows. All ages welcome (juniors need adult supervision).
Limited availability. July-August archery season or August-September rifle season. Choose between management buck or trophy-class hunts depending on annual availability. Hunts take place on select private ranches in Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties. Ages 12+ with adult supervision for juniors.
If you draw a California Tule elk tag, they guide hunts in Gabilan and Hunter Ligget units across Monterey, San Benito, and San Luis Obispo counties. 100% success rate to date. Flexible hunt duration tailored to your tag.
