Full description and what we offer
CALHUNT serves as the central hub for California hunters looking to connect with licensed guides, professional outfitters, and hunting lodges. Founded by Angelo Nogara—President and a 4-time California State Broadhead Champion—the site combines trusted referrals with practical hunting information all in one place.
Angelo Nogara brings serious credentials to the table. He holds the California state record for a non-typical blacktail deer taken with a bow in 2005, currently ranked #2 with a gross score of 165 1/8 points. He's a member of the Pope & Young Club, National Field Archery Association (NFAA), California Bowmen Hunters, and has written for Bow and Arrow Hunting Magazine, Realtree.com, and multiple regional game & fish publications.
"To me, nothing compares to the sheer pleasure of being in the mountains and witnessing its natural beauty. I consider hunting more than just a sport. It is a way of life for me." — Angelo Nogara
Every person involved with CALHUNT is a working outdoorsman—not just someone selling hunts. The "Wolfpack" forms the backbone of the site: dedicated rifle hunters and bowhunters who spend their spare time in the field and keep the directory's information constantly updated.

CALHUNT provides the directory, but emphasizes hunter responsibility:
"When contacting any of these individuals or businesses, it is your sole responsibility to run a thorough background check, including contacting their references and client list prior to booking a hunt."
Always ask for references, check client testimonials, and verify licensing through the California Department of Fish and Game.
CALHUNT's mission centers on preserving hunting as a way of life in California. The community connects serious hunters with the professionals, resources, and information needed to plan and execute successful hunts across the state's diverse terrain and game species.
