All courses let you pause and resume whenever you need. Study anytime from home, work, or anywhere with internet.

  • Self-paced instruction broken into sections with quizzes
  • Timed lessons that meet California's 16-hour or 8-hour requirements
  • Final exam covering all course material
  • Printable certificate of completion (screenshot option available)
  • Connection to affiliate ranges for live-fire qualification

Certificates remain valid for 90 days from completion—enough time to schedule and complete your live-fire qualification before applying for your permit.

Non-resident applicants complete the course and take their certificate directly to their county issuing agency, which provides the live-fire test.

The site connects you with providers in your county or city who offer both the course pathway and live-fire range access. Check affiliate pages for any special county requirements or range procedures before enrolling.
