True Aim

True Aim has been training shooters across Ventura and Los Angeles counties for over 20 years. They're NRA-certified instructors offering everything from beginner pistol classes to advanced tactical training, with a simple guarantee: if you don't agree the training is excellent, it's free.

California CCW Training

This is Ventura County Sheriff's Department approved training. New applicants need a minimum 16-hour course; renewals require 8 hours. You must bring the actual firearms and holsters you plan to carry on your permit. Training covers firearm safety and lawful use requirements under California Penal Code § 26150.

Utah & Multi-State Options

They also certify for Utah CCW permits (simpler process than California), plus Arizona and Florida. Utah certification includes targets, certificates, training outlines, and fingerprint cards—you just need to bring your firearm and 25 rounds per gun.

For students who've completed prior True Aim training, the 2.5-hour Defensive Handgun course moves beyond static targets. You'll practice:

• •Malfunction drills (Type I, II, III)
• •Speed and tactical reloading
• •Multiple target engagement
• •Moving while shooting and shooting at moving targets
• •Shooting from cover

You'll need a semi-auto or revolver with 3-4 magazines/speed-loaders, proper holster, heavy duty belt, and 250 rounds of ammunition.
