Full description and what we offer
Frontera Hunting operates guided hunts across the rural Central Coast of California—a region defined by rolling hills, oak trees, sagebrush, creek beds, and grain fields. The name "Frontera" (Spanish for frontier) reflects the company's celebration of this untamed landscape and its Spanish heritage.
As a family-operated business with multigenerational expertise in cattle ranching and guided hunting, Frontera Hunting manages their private properties with active wildlife management and land stewardship. This isn't just access to acreage—it's access to properly maintained hunting grounds.
Effective 2024, Frontera has focused entirely on wild pig hunts, leveraging exclusive rights across their extensive private land portfolio. Here's what you're getting:
| Package | Price | Duration | Land Access | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CORE | $1,500/hunter | 2 days | 20,000 acres | Beginners to Advanced |
| SECO | $1,375/hunter | 2 days (summer only) | 20,000 acres | Seasonal challenge, Jul-Aug |
| BRAVO | $2,000/hunter | 2 days + 2 nights lodging | 33,000 acres | Beginners to Advanced |
| ALPHA | $2,950/hunter | 3 days + 2 nights + 8 meals | 50,000 acres | Intermediate to Advanced |
| TROPHY BOAR | $3,000/hunter | 2 days + 2 nights lodging | Trophy ranches | Limited availability, advanced hunters |
What's Included Across All Packages: - Complimentary snacks and drinks - Field transportation - Field dressing and skinning - Walk-in cooler access - Meat processing and taxidermy arrangement (available) - Guided hunting experience
Age requirement: All hunters must be 12 years or older.
The Frontera Shooting Opportunity Guarantee - Every package includes a guaranteed opportunity to take a shot at wild boar within shooting distance. If you hit a pig and it can't be recovered, you're responsible for claiming it as your harvest and the tag is used (Wounded Pig Policy).
Frontera offers 3 levels of difficulty to match hunter skill: - Solo hunts for those preferring to hunt alone - Group hunts for 2-8 hunters - Seasonal challenges (SECO hunts, July-August only, with morning/evening-only hunting due to heat)
Frontera awards exclusive patches—not for sale, only earned: - VICTORY - Successful boar kill - EARLY BIRD - Kill within first 3 hours - HEART ATTACK - Successful heart shot - HAWKEYE - Successful archery kill - SECO - Successful Seco Hunt kill - GLADIATOR - Successful Trophy kill
Frontera accommodates non-hunting family and friends who want to experience the hunt and outdoor tradition without participating in the harvest. This is part of their philosophy about creating shared experiences and forging traditions.
Wild pig hunts are available year-round. However, SECO hunts (the seasonal challenge package at $1,375) are only available July and August with limited slots due to the specific hunting windows required for that increased difficulty level.
Frontera's core principle is respecting the land and native wildlife. They actively tend their properties and manage wildlife to maintain ideal hunting conditions and success rates. This hands-on stewardship is baked into everything they do on and off the hunt.
Frontera previously offered blacktail deer hunts, California quail, and dove hunts but has narrowed its focus exclusively to wild pig hunting to maximize the value of their 40,000+ acre exclusive portfolio.
