California American Legion's Junior Shooting Sports Program offers youth gun safety education and competitive air rifle marksmanship training in Sanger, California. Operated through Legion posts, squadrons, and auxiliary units, this three-part program combines basic marksmanship instruction, qualification awards, and air rifle competition into a comprehensive shooting sports activity.
The Junior Shooting Sports Program is designed to introduce young shooters to firearm safety, proper technique, and competitive marksmanship. This well-rounded program serves as an accessible entry point for youth interested in shooting sports.
Participants use .177 caliber air rifles in all program activities. This standardized equipment ensures fair competition and creates an equal playing field for all shooters regardless of physical ability.
