Online Concealed Carry Course — A Virginia nonresident concealed handgun permit course recognized in 29+ states. No state residency requirement. Takes 2 hours. $59.99. After completion, you'll have documentation to apply for the actual permit through Virginia State Police.

Household Firearm Safety Course — For people with guns in the home who want family members educated on safe handling, storage, and emergency protocols. Covers the basics everyone should know if a firearm is stored in the house.

Virginia is the only state that explicitly allows online firearms training to satisfy its concealed carry competency requirement. Some states won't accept online courses at all, which makes the Virginia nonresident permit valuable for multistate travelers and people who work across state lines.

After completing the course, applying for the actual Virginia nonresident permit requires:

• •2x2 inch photograph (color or B&W, taken within 6 months)
• •Fingerprint card from a law enforcement agency
• •Photocopy of government-issued photo ID
• •Self-addressed stamped envelope

Processing: Virginia State Police reviews fingerprints through FBI criminal history records. The permit is valid for five years and must be carried whenever you're carrying concealed.
