Location details and information
Oakdale Sportsmen's Club was recently recognized by the Oakdale City Council for reaching a milestone of 85 years of continuous operation. This members-only private shooting range has earned its place through consistent focus on safety, sportsmanship, and community.
Members access five distinct shooting sports:
Pistol ranges occupy the west end of the property with four separate bays:
| Bay | Allowed Firearms | Details |
|---|---|---|
| Bay 1 | Standard handguns only | Standard pistol range |
| Bay 2 | Handguns, rifles (bench at 35 yards) | Rifle sighting-in with Range Master |
| Bays 3-4 | Handguns, rifles, shotguns | Max 10 rounds rifle/shotgun |
The rifle section features a 100-yard range housed under a protective roof behind the rifle line barrier—proper setup for precision work.
Membership is limited and requires sponsorship from a current member in good standing. New applicants must:
1. Find a current OSC member to sponsor them 2. Complete an application (contact Membership Chairman at OSCTim[email protected]) 3. Get board approval (board meets 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.)
2025 membership renewal dues are $150, prorated for new members upon approval.
If you don't know a current member, you can petition the board directly at monthly meetings or contact Range Masters and Section Leaders about sponsorship opportunities.
Members receive a card lock gate key (numbered to the individual) plus a paper membership card. The automated gate opens when you hold your card to the sensor—automatically closes behind you when entering or leaving. Card replacement costs $25, and unauthorized card sharing will result in deactivation and possible membership loss.
Guests must be accompanied by a member at all times and follow the same safety rules as members.
Every member carries safety responsibility. Key rules:
Members violating safety rules face suspension, termination, or immediate expulsion. All members are safety officers with a duty to address violations immediately.
The club hosts regular competitive matches and special events. The Paulette Graham-Wright Memorial Shoot (held in November) drew 93 participants in a recent year and featured competitive categories for guests and members across HOA, singles, handicap, doubles, veteran, junior, and high lady divisions.
Run entirely by volunteers passionate about shooting sports. Leadership includes:
The club actively seeks board volunteers. Contact President Rick Servando or any Board Member if interested in contributing.
The club hall is available for member rentals and occasionally rented to nonprofits or service groups. Shooting is not permitted when the hall is rented. The club also offers propane discounts to members.
OSC maintains an on-site store and newsletter ("The Golden Pheasant") keeping members updated on events, legislation, and club news.
